As a program administrator, how can I obtain the T-TAP?

If you are program director that provides training to your staff, you could be eligible to earn the Training and Technical Assistance Professional Credential - Professional Development Specialist designation (T-TAP PDS).

The revised application process was made live in early 2021.  In addition, NYAEYC is using funding from the Preschool Development Grant Birth through Five to refund all credential fees upon successful completion of the T-TAP process.

To be eligible you need to have the following:

  • A current trainer profile in The Aspire Registry. (If you already have an Aspire profile, just log in and select the Register as a Trainer check box and continue to enter information about the kinds of training you provide in addition to any trainer qualifications you may have).
  • A Career Ladder Level 5A or higher.
  • At least 12 credits from an accredited higher education institution in either Early Childhood, Elementary Education, Youth Development or School Age Care
  • 2-years of documented professional experience working directly with children and families.

If you meet these requirements, you can start by submitting an Intent to Apply form on the New York Association for the Education of Young Children (NYAEYC) website.
